Looking for some advice here, guys.
i'm working on some tanto blades (new to me) and am having a heck of a time grinding them. my original plan was to holoow grind both tip and main bevel on a 3" wheel. first knife i ground tip first, them bevel and had a difficult blending them together. second knife i ground bevel first, then tip. was equally as tough. the joint where the two grinds meet is whats killing me.i can go back and fourth from tip, to bevel but i keep getting a slight overlapping of grinds.., does that make sense??
is this because i'm using such a small wheel?? i'm going to try and clean one up on a 4" wheel to see if it makes any difference. would i be better off flat grinding the tip?? i certainly like to look of a flat/hollow mixture.
What do you guys grind first and how exactly to you go about blending the two grinds??
