Tanto - spring steel

I made this form 65G - spring steel like 5160. I made a clay diferential HT and etched it in ferric chloride. You can see the temper line clearly. It is full tang handle with 7 10mm holes and wraped with leather stripes. Hope you like it. It is a gift for a close friends birthday. Enjoy. :)
 
looks great, I like the etched blade look. I'm actually having a guy from another forum parkerize one of my knives for me to see if I want to buy my own jug of solution. but the ferric chloride etch looks great. anyone know if it holds onto oil as well as a park finish?

Don't know if it holds oil better, but it will soak a little into the acid etch finish.

BTW, Great looking knife, I assure your friend will be very pleased.
