Hey Everybody,

Just finished up this Tanto and took some quick pics. It was supposted to be a Bob Lum sort of thing, with nickel silver bolsters and micarta. I have been forging a fair amount of Aluminum lately and thought I would experiment with a forged in pattern on scales. The texturing die I used was simply MIG weld on a plate dressed with scotchbrite. I wanted an organic look like stag or rock erosion. The handle is held on by handmade copper rivets and I left them a bit proud to act as indexing points. The blade is 0-1 with a hollow grind that I left a bit thick at the edge and fethered in with polishing stones. So it goes from hollow to convex 3/16 from the edge. It cuts like crazy.

I DO NOT like Aluminum on knives but I do on this one, very much so. I like the blade shape and the finish.
 
Yeah, I usualy hate Aluminum on knives as well. The raw, polished finish actually has a nice feel, not at all like an anodized handle.
