Also, before heat treat don't grind the edge till it's sharp. Most recommend leaving it around .05 inches thick maybe. During heat treat, there's this layer of decarb that needs to be ground off. But another point is safety, just put on the knife edge last in the process, if not you will cut yourself a few times.
