Taught me -- Twig stoves -- thanks, here it is!

Well you got most of advantages of the Bushbuddy design, the only thing missing is that it can be picked up by the bottom...not a big deal...but it doesn't scorch the ground or start a secondary fire like the hobo stoves. And you saw the efficiency of the gasification and the near smokeless heat output. Good job, have fun with it.

It took perhaps 20 minutes?

Cheap, easy, functional...what more can you want?

Hmmm, I think one of these will be my holiday project. I had never seen the empty paint cans, but yesterday I enquired at the local hardware store, they had a 2 litre paint can and said that they used to have the 1 litre cans (very close to 1 quart size). I'll check a couple of other hardware stores in the next couple of days and see what they have.

Maybe I'll get a 2 litre can and make me a big version as well as the 1 litre size (if I can find a can) for a normal version. Being able to boil water from burning a few dry twigs is just cool!

If you do not use the same materials as I did it may take longer. The combination I used actually friction fits together. Using two cans that are not perfectly compatible might require more time...but probably not much if you are creative.

This is the coolest return on $3.25 I have ever had!
