Taximanny knives!

Mine's been riding in my watch pocket since i got it. The broad but flat handle makes it feel capable, but light. Probably the thing i like most about it is the super thin full flat grind, just slices with no effort at all. I like 01 steel, and so far the heat treat seems to be very well done. I'm finding i really like linerless g10 knives, they feel just as solid and are super light. I think we'll be seeing great things from Manny in the future.

Thanks for those pictures and remarks Ben - especially the remarks about the linerless covers. I too like 01. It takes a nice edge and holds it well.

Oh, nice looking knife!!

Could one of you please post a picture of the knife closed? (The blade looks foreshortened in the 'open' images I've seen so far, and I'd like to gauge how much of that is a trick of perspective.)

Where's Comeuppance? I was looking forward to his pictures of his knife.

Taximanny is a new maker and is doing very good so far. He is the first critic of his work, hence the very low prices he is asking for his current early production.
I bet it won't take long to see top notch slippies coming out of his shop because he learns VERY quickly. IMHO time is right for him to start proudly stamping his name on his knives!!

Nice snag there PW!! Another for your ever growing soddie collection!! John

If I had to choose one word to describe this knife, it would be...slicey. If it was any thinner I think it would split atoms. It cuts...it cuts VERY well.

I've followed Manny in his threads on making his sodbusters better and getting advise from some of the more experienced. He certainly has talent. His current soddies may come with a g10 liner under the micarta...CU, how does the knife feel with use, sturdy?
And this is true custom piece....I had requested SS liners but he will need to get some new equipment, which is his goal. More power to him...so will be on the lookout.
Good to see the positive report so far.

Aye, I had inquired about a commissioned piece as well, and he said he was too busy for custom orders at the moment. I just hope to get my foot in the door before there's a waiting list!

The knife is -very- solid and sturdy. It inspires a lot of confidence in the hand, and feels very robust and comfortable.

Where's Comeuppance? I was looking forward to his pictures of his knife.

I was at work! The lighting is terrible there, and I'm also not keen on testing my limits with my boss by dicking around taking pictures of knives when there's work to be done.

Time for pictures, to make up for the horrible dearth of them in this thread!

Finally, a size comparison with a bit of the herd:

Thanks for the pictures. Your comparison picture shows it to be a wide knife - a hand filler for sure. Actually, I kinda like his mark on the inside of spring. Many people have mentioned that it is a slicer and the narrow blade backs that up. It's a very handsome piece. It appears to be a tad longer than a Case Sodbuster. Maybe, in the future, he'll replace the lower pin with a thong hole.

Yep, those jobs get in the way of a lot of things we like to do but without them we couldn't do a lot of things we like to do.

Oh, the background you're using for your knife photos is very nice. Sets the knives off nicely.

One last thing. Does your knife have liners? In some pictures, it appears to have black liners and in other pictures not.

It fills the hand nicely and slices like a laser, aye. A very fine workin' knife indeed. It has black G10 liners, which can blend or look like a shadow in different lighting.

Thank you! The background is a $12 glass patio table I picked up from Academy a couple years ago. I mostly just wait until the early morning (7:30 AM is usually the sweet spot) for that nice even morning lighting. I swear that lighting is how I've managed to move my excess knives so reliably... It just makes things look their absolute best.

I second that it should have a lanyard / keychain / thong barrel or hole. Although, really, it fits so nicely in my watch pocket and is wide enough that it's not hard to get to. Maybe I'll have him drill one into a mini or a swayback whenever I'm lucky enough to come across another unclaimed one - which I may have inadvertently made less likely with this thread...

It's a very nice looking knife.

Did you post a picture of it, in the RR thread inside a RR pocket sheath?
I was going to ask you in that thread what knife was in the pocket sheath.
