Thanks for the comparisons and specifications, Harry! Very informative. Comparing a couple of different eras is most interesting.

Is it true we will see you at the Rendezvous???

- some really lovely examples here, fellas  :)

I have a couple of more modern TEWs made by the hands of Russell White (the top knife in pic is also by Russell under his own name)

Looks pretty good Sir . How long have you had that one ??? Is that a Lambsfoot or a Sheepsfoot ???

Harry

Thank you.
It was sold as a lambsfoot, and it's a lambsfoot to me because the breadth tapers toward the point. (Last time I looked at Taylor's Eye Witness wares, they were selling a sheepfoot as a lambsfoot, I think it was. Not helpful.)
This is a Taylor's, etched "Sheffield Made", so at least assembled there. Handles are a synthetic I don't recognize, though it feels a bit pummice-stone like, like g-10.
How old? A couple to a few years. Straight from Taylor's, whose pricing and shipping were quite reasonable. I never carried it much because it was a bit long for my jurisdiction until I tried out my new wet grinder on it. I'll be carrying it for a while to give a fair trial to a straight-edge main.

We have not made a decision yet . We are doing a cruise up the Rhine in early May and will decide after that if we want to do another trip . I surely would like to and it really isn't that far to go .

These today : Taylors Eye Witness Sheepsfoot .
I had originally thought the the TEW had stainless steel blades because they were were very shiny for an old knife. Yesterday I peeled an apple and that changed my opinion . I also changed my opinion on how old the knife may be . It Does Not Have England on either blade tang . Like this old TEW a lot . It has some heft , gets pretty sharp , and snaps like a steel trap .

Harry I love that knife- you have a good old Taylor there- when they were producing some VERY VERY nice knives!

Awesome thread here!!
My first Eyewitness Sheffield England knife, a real beaut at 3”1/8. As snappy as a turtle and as sharp as a razor these blades!! No cracks or loose parts here as I just applied mineral oil to the pivots and it looks almost unused. A very well made knife I must say. Now there’s a pin test as Pink Floyd once eluded to, that may partially apply here upon further evaluation.
