To make a long story short, a substitute mail carrier failed to properly deliver 2 knives meant for me. One was a large Regular UG that tchapman414 had posted for sale here on BF. I made him and offer, and ironically when he accepted he said he was glad it was me since he knew he'd have a hassle-free transaction. Well, it didn't turn out that way....

tchapman414 kept in touch me as the knife was in transit, and when it was supposed to be in my mailbox but wasn't, we immediately started calling the post office trying to get them to hunt down my knife. He made it clear from the very start that I'd be refunded in full if the knife was truly lost, which sadly that ended up to be the case. Something else that stands out to me is the he ASKED me if he could wait on refunding me to see if the post office could find the knife. Of course I said that was fine, as I held out hope that the knife would be found.

Today he notified me that the post office had paid his claim, and there's a refund pending in my paypal account. So sadly, another Regular Sebenza is probably lost forever, but you know you can deal in confidence with tchapman414.

I have to give great thanks to Lone_Wolfe for both the very kind words, and her part in making this transaction go so smoothly, despite the worst of outcomes. This was the first time I've had to deal with a knife being lost in transit, and very unfortunately, it had to be a unique piece of CRK history. USPS put up a bit of resistance to the insurance claim, as expected, but in the end, they did right also, and paid the claim value in full.

Thank you Lone_Wolfe for helping to make a knife sale, with one of the worst possible occurrences, work out well for all involved with impeccable communication. As many already know, I can only further state that Lone_Wolfe is an indispensable member here on BladeForums!

I've bought and sold quite a few things online over the years, and so far, only had 1 item come up missing. It seems to be a rare occurrence that something gets lost in the mail, but it does happen sometimes unfortunately. Glad to hear that the package was insured, and that USPS made good on the claim. Better luck next time hopefully.
