Teach me about Opinels.

Thanks for all the useful information about Opinels, everyone; I just bought a pearwood #6 and #8, for kitchen duty and knife sharpening practice.

I'm sure you will have years of enjoyment from using these knives without any "buyer's regret". I suspect those knives will end up doing a lot more than kitchen duty :thumbup:
 
I stuck my Opinel in a tree and bent the tip. They are very thin. So I took a dremel tool too it and with some potato slices to make a stripped patina , fashioned the ugliest knife in Missouri.
