Techno 2

I had the original Techno and hence sold it, here's why: I find it more of a designer knife/pocket jewellery than what it was marketed to be; ie. a so called "Little Big Knife" for EDC. As a knife it fails on almost all counts of everyday tasks. Because of the thickness of the blade, it preforms poorly at tight spots such as opening up envelops, it's too short to be used as food prep. Even halving a sandwich it compresses the bread instead of cutting it. I can't begin to tell you how useless it is around the grill in the summer. On top of that, the wire clip and the extra slots for ...I dunno...left pocket carry...? simply destroys the original design.

Sharpen it with a 14 or 15 dps edge and it will perform a lot better. It has a standard factory edge sharpened up to 20 dps. I don’t say it is a perfect knife with great ergonomics. You can’t make the blade thinner. But it makes a big difference. I like it :)

After further consideration, I think I will pick up one of these at some point. It's worth checking out.

I’m on the fence. Loved the Techno except for the thick blade stock. Hoping the “2” will slice better......

I just picked the Techno 1 here off the exchange. It is a perfect example. I absolutely love the design....so much so that I might have to get stupid and over pay for a Slysz Bowie.
I will be picking up the 2 to compare....

Bumping this one to the top as it is my most anitipated knife of the year. With the end of the year coming around the corner I am hoping this is released soon!

This one certainly has me interested as well. Completely impressed by the Spydiechef I got about two weeks ago. I’d like to feel the Techno 2 in person though I think.

One thing i'm not sure i'm a fan of is how on the techno 2 they decided to remove the steel insert from the frame lock.

The original does not have an insert either.

It doesn't? Maybe I missunderstood Eric Glessers blade hq's vid where they were showing what's new for Spyderco for 2018. In It I thought he had said for the Tecno2 they felt the frame lock was big enough that they removed the steel insert that was on the Tecno1 as they deemed it unnecessary. I'll have to watch the vid again.

Yeah I remember watching that and thinking the same thing as you. But the Techno has never had an insert.

On the Spydie forum, Kristi (from Spyderco) posted this yesterday:
"Techno 2 has started shipping internationally and is scheduled to start shipping domestically within the next week or so".
Wooooooooo!!! Been fiending for this one badly...
