Techno and Mouse: side-by-side

Hi,
I have switched from a C22 Michael Walker to a Techno.
For push cuts the thick spine is a pleasure under the thumb. The geometry is also well thought. It's thin behind the edge. So it's a pleasure to use.
The C22 cf ZDP 189 got better cutting performance but not that much.
This little wedge of a folder is a keeper. :)

I wasn't interested in the Tecnho until I handled it at a local store. The handle is very comfortable in my medium-sized hand. Despite the thick blade stock, it is ground to a thin edge. While it's heavy for its size, it's not heavy for a knife. It's 3.6 ounces.
I plan on purchasing one soon.

I have to agree with this 100%, pushing on the spine with any finger is a joy with zero hot spots and pressure being evened out on 4.5mm is heaven compared to a 3mm blade. I've used my techno on a few rabbits/squirrels waiting for a deer.

I have perhaps already posted my review of the Techno link, pardon me if it's redondant. :-)

(Since then I'm working on a Manbug review, but the Techno is my last review so far... It should have called it "The Roaring of the Mouse"...)

I just checked the links I originally posted and they appear to still be working... not sure why others would have a problem but if they don't work you can google "Marcin Slysz mouse techno" and find the links.

I'm really digging the Techno. I like how it has a flat spot at the base of the blade - I can get a full grip on the handle and the edge is right above my hand, so I can do very close-cutting and get some power behind the blade. The fatter blade does seem to create more drag than the Sage 2 but the ergonomics are far better in my opinion (I'm not a huge choil fan so your results and/or preferences may vary).

As for the way this thread turned out, I'm not surprised in the least that it turned into a Techno bashfest.

After reading down a few posts I had to look back up and make sure the thread title wasn't "Please give me your negative comments about the Techno because we all care about your opinion".

But no it was a comparison about the origins of the Techno which was cool to see, thanks Cap!

Nice review! Thank you. Now I just need a low-ride wire clip for it. Mine came with a shorter, higher-ride clip which I haven't seen on any others.

.

I like it, but my pockets are full of knives, no room for anymore. Anybody "zap" their handle yet?

You should show us a picture of it. The Prototype used to have an higher clip and not wired.

I love my Techno and have carried it every day since I got it in August. My Sebenza hasn't been carried since getting the Techno and I've had no issues with making hard cuts with it over that time.

The Techno is a great little knife. I carry it often, without the clip, and blade thickess has never been an issue. Actually, I like this knife much better than the Leafstorm. Having said that, I'm looking forward for the inevitable post containing a regrind...

I'm almost there, but not quite yet...

I do like the Sage serie a lot but I do love the Sage 2. Taichung is bringing some very high quality in manufacturing.
The Techno is really a very new animal to me. I was doubting about this short thick blade until I have tried it. I'm still amazed by the whole package.
