(Techno) My first titanium, first frame lock, first Taiwan made knife

My head is about to explode.
I am overwhelmed with satisfaction. This is the most expensive folding knife I've ever bought to keep and carry.
I live in the city and do sales in people's homes.
I needed something small but I'm all about strength and reliability.
I decided on a techno quite awhile back. I ordered it from an auction site, as it turned out from a fellow bladeforums member.
I have found my edc for the next many years.I can't get over the super late engaging yet perfectly secure detent. How do they do that? No Springs yet it sucks itself in. The lock up makes me feel very secure in using this knife hard. The mechanics of opening, locking, unlocking, closing are Infinitely entertaining. Lol I can't put it down.
The centering, the way the screws inlaid, the blade, grind.... It's too much. I've always bought enduras, had a native, wife edc's a dragonfly tattoo. Decided to continue to trust spyderco on the higher end. To my shock this is as good (better) value then even their legendary cheaper knives. I believe this is a gold standard for production collaboration based on an existing custom knife (slyz mouse)... I can relax on the edc search now for some time and just enjoy pocket perfection. I think I may customize it a little. Anybody have some pimped techno pics to post on this thread? would be appreciated.

Thank you for sharing your excitement. Your thread inspired me to order one for myself and I'm so glad I did. I love my Techno! It's quickly becoming my favorite small EDC. It feels like lifetime durability and silky smooth function. So small and discreet but ready for real work when you need it. Great Knife!

Hey Awesome!
Mines broken in quite a bit over the couple weeks I've had it. And it's really smooth. I'm glad I nudged you on the techno, it's an edc dream.

I have a NIB Techno sitting in reserve. I hope to anodize it blue sometime soon, as I really like that color in titanium...
Great folder.

Just got mine in the mail today and it surpassed all expectations.
Big knife feel in a little knife package.
Came screaming sharp.
Great fit and finish.
Another win from Spyderco's Taichung factory.

It might not be for everyone, but Man, it sure is for me👍. No other knife has seen more pocket time since August, 2012.

I love my Techno so much I couldn't resist adding the other Taichung made Slysz knife. What a dream pair! The Slysz Bowie is just as refined and smooth as the Techno. The two blades are different in just the right ways to complement each other beautifully. One is short and stout, while the other is long and thin. An amazing utility knife paired with a fantastic slicer.
The refinement on the bowie is every bit as nice as the Techno plus the addition of the rounded blade spine that looks and feels awesome. The action on the Bowie is amazingly smooth and the lockup is just as solid and impressive as the Techno.
I have a hard time imagining how I'm going to come up with a better pair of pocket knives....but I'll keep trying!

Yes, I agree
Gorgeous pair

Great picture Gearguy. I think the Bowie will be my next purchase.
My techno already has saved me a half its cost in inexpensive small knives I'd have ordered.(was looking at things like cold steel mini AK, or boker nano, cause I could afford it NOW, but stayed focused on a techno for two years! Lol) now I have no desire to look for a small folder.
The Bowie will be the same story. I love enduras. Food prep, slicing, camping, hiking knife.. And currently need one . I'm not going to that's just $65 towards the slyze bowie!
Spyderco is AWESOME! They got me into knives 23years ago in high school when I saw my first endura. Like a great musician Sal and the gang can maintain innovation and excitement for a lifetime. Working with custom makers and producing with this quality is hard to beat.

Thank you bleedingfinger. The more I use the Bowie the happier I am with it. Just like my Techno.
I spent some time carefully comparing my new Bowie with my Benchmade 761 and I prefer the Bowie in nearly every way. The handle feels better, the lockup is more solid feeling, the pivot is sturdier, the finish is better looking IMO, the sound of the lock-up is better, the overall machining seems to be of a higher quality, and it carries tip up while the 761 doesn't. I really love this Bowie! Spyderco is awesome!
The last few Spydercos I've bought...(Chubby, Rubicon, Techno, Sage 2) were beginning to convert me from a Benchmade guy to a Spyderco guy, and the Slysz Bowie has pushed me over the top. Spyderco is just making the best production stuff available right now.

Keep up the good work Sal!
