techno versus sage 2

Sage2 all the way. The Techno is a sharpened pry bar. If you want the one that cuts better then get the Sage. I can get a better grip on the Sage also.

I have both, but don't really carry either one much. I carry the Sage1 though quite a bit, and keep the Sage2 for 'special' days. I really like the Sage, but have never warmed up to the Techno.

I prefer the Sage 1 to the Sage 2 for general use. The Sages are better for most cutting use than the Techno, but the Techno fits in my coin pocket and with a thinner grind cuts about as well as a Sage. On most days I'm not doing prolonged cutting and the compact size of the Techno beats out the better ergos on the Sage.
Since the Sage needs to be carried in a normal pocket it competes with PM2s, Southard, GB2, Domino, Slysz Bowie, PPT, Viele, Caly 3.5, CF Stretch and Militarys so this means that I let the Sage 2 go and use my Techno a lot..

I much prefer the Sage 2, I can never get over the thick blade of the Techno, nor do I like backspacers. If the Techno's were at least as thin as the Sage 2 and flow-through I would have gotten it in a heartbeat, though.

I would want a techno, but only because I already have a chaparral which is an awesome elegant folder, so I don't need a sage.

got both, both are great, but the sage 2 would make for a better EDC and is priced lower. Both have got the weird good looking spyderco style, but the Techno does have to edge in this regards, it' such an super cool and nice in hand odd little fellow. I prefer CTS-XHP over CPM-S30V. It just takes a crazy sick edge with little efforts.

you really can't go wrong with either.

I've owned and loved both. EDC use the Sage wins hands down, for something with more style and still a lot of function, the Techno. For me it comes down to better ergonomics and a slimmer blade in the Sage that make it more useful for everyday use. It's not even a contest in my mind. Techno is fun, Sage is useful.

Sage 2 is so great I had to get another. However I got these before I had a Techno, and after extensive carry I would give a slight nod for the Techno. I still want to get the XHP model, I got mine during the mistaken S-30V run.
