Up for sale is one of my modern bearded axes. I call it the "Skeg axe", skeg is old norse for beard.
This one is made from 4140, the industry standard for tomahawks and axes. The tang is drawn to a spring temper for extra durability.
I am only making a few of these big axes, and they are all a little different with the grind and handle material.
This on has a spike on the back that is useful for many tasks, such as digging, piercing and hooking objects.
These things are tanks and will certainly last a lifetime.
Here are the specs.
OAL - 16"
Head length - 8"
Primary cutting edge - 4"
Steel - 3/8" 4140 Spring tempered tang for ultimate durability.
Handle - OD green G10. Scalloped for grip, but smooth enough to be very comfortable. Permanently attached via x3 1/4" screws and G/flex epoxy.
Sheath - Kydex with bungi retention system. This locks the axe in the sheath, but is very quick to release for use.
Price - SOLD $500 SOLD
Paypal preferred, but I also accept postal money order and all major credit cards.
Thanks for looking!!
Sorry for the mediocre pictures, these will not fit in my normal photo setup.
