Teflon vs bronze?

Is there any noticeable difference replacing Teflon washers with bronze washers? Bronze with Teflon?
Good idea? Bad idea? Or complete waste of time?
What are your opinions??

I prefer bronze washers. While they do require occasional oiling, at least they don't tear/wrinkle and jam up the pivot.

Here's a very used knife with teflon washers.
It's been cycled tens (maybe hundreds)of thousands of times, still tight and butter smooth.
Thought I might replace them with bronze when they wear out, but that might be another 20 years.

Teflon has a much lower coefficient of friction, but typically shows high wear rates.
