I know it is used to carry holsters and sheaths but how exactly does it work?

its a type of belt clip thing which you attach to your belt i'll try and make a vid 2mrw on a tek-lok hoped i helped

Like a belt clip, but it can be locked (hence the name) onto your belt or molle attachment.
