How does 10V react to corrosion? Does it rust or will it develop a patina? Is it tough enough to support a thin edge? Any other info would be helpful as well

10v is super wear resistant. It has approxiately the same amount of vanadium that you would find in k294 or k390. Insane edge holding. Yes it will be fine with a thin edge, not sure about how it will corrode, but it is NOT stainless. Hope this helps

I just used my 10V utility from Big Chris on a rare piece of beef and it developed the slightest bit of bluish/purple patina. I do normally give it a shot of spray silicone to keep corrosion at bay. He ran it pretty thin, don't recall how thin off the top of my head. I've put it through a ton of heavy gauge plastic and while it won't shave quite as good anymore it just cuts quite aggressively without a single touch up.

10v has D2 class toughness, highly wear resistant and will support a thin edge. A11 grade will hold a working edge longer then you can believe! It cuts aggressive too with all the carbide content.

Thanks for that. A11 is specifically what I was talking about but I figured more people might be familiar with 10V. That is exciting!

it will pit if not carred for but i have made 2 kitchen knives out of it and it was not a problem that the ownets have ever let me know about. they might be used to carbon steel blades
i have etched blades and the steel get really black
grind it to as near finished as you safely can since post HT you will hate it in every way (dont even think about hand sanding (did that on the parring knife i made took forever)
