Tell me about knives with lanyard tubes

t seems, from my experience, that they are more common on larger knives, and perhaps knives that are expected to see some outdoor use. Where you might want to attach them to a real lanyard, which would serve as an attachment point so you didn't lose or drop it.

That’s the only purpose that a lanyard tube serves for me. When I go out hiking, camping or fishing, my pocketknife is either tethered with a lanyard or worn in a pouch of some sort, to prevent it from getting lost. I prefer a bail on my knives, but a lanyard tube is serviceable.
