I'm the one who commented that "Anything that weakens the backspring is, to my way of thinking, to be avoided...for an EDC, anyway..."
And I still say it...
If Buck wanted any metal removed, they would have done it...Saves money...
I'm not a fan of filigreeing, scrimshawing, engraving, filework, etching...All they do is take away from the inherent beauty of the base metal...and they are frequently used to hide defects...
