Tell me the drawbacks of my edc choice

Greetings all,
...and a happy New Year to all. I’m green to this forum, and really, to intelligent knife conversation, in general...so I’m happy to be here now. For the past 4 mo., a spydiechef has been my daily, and I am absolutely enamoured w/ it. Love the blade to handle ratio, the titanium frame, the blade steel itself (I live near the ocean, in humid S FL, and it seems to sharpen and hold an edge as well, if not slightly better, than s30v), even the much maligned wire clip. The blade’s profile suits my purpose very well, although if I had my way, it’d be slightly thicker at the spine (I understand though, that it’s a slicer). “Hot spots” don’t seem to be an issue for me, as I’m never working with it for an extended time period.
I’d like to invite any member to please tell me the flaws in my preferred blade du jour. I always love to hear opposing viewpoints, and constructive criticism. That’s how I learn. Also please suggest anything you’ve found to be superior for use in the same capacity. I barely cook (away from a grill) so it’s unbelievable that my favorite carry has the word ‘chef’ in it. Thanks again, for any feedback, and for sharing your knowledge. Only brief posts from me from now on..promise. Lol

I don't have one, but I see little (if anything) to critique. You've made a fine choice - enjoy your knife.
(The "much maligned" wire clip probably has at least as many fans as detractors... especially among people that actually carry their knives.)

What are the drawbacks of your choice ?

Well you can't bash it through a log to create kindling, and it's not good for killing zombies.
So pretty much the fact that it's not a smatchet is a big problem :D

Seriously though the only drawbacks I can come up with would be width, both in pocket and width / size of the blade.
If you don't mind it in your pocket then that's obviously out, but It's blade may not be great for fine detailed work if the need ever arises.

You love the knife and it's worked out fine for the past 4 months, so I say as long as you have some kind of smaller narrower blade on you as well say on a multitool or something like a Victorinox recruit then you should have no problems.
That is if you ever even do any finer detailed cutting.

Everyone is different so there's really no way we can tell you there's anything wrong with a knife you love that obviously works for you.

Only drawback I've found is that I carry it more than others and that it makes me want more of Marcin's knives.

AGREED! The Bowie is looking very attractive to me at the moment. Love that pic of yours doing what it was meant to do :)

Thank you, wise sir, for making me feel somewhat less weird for loving a ‘chef’s knife’ over the others I have that are supposed to be made specifically for general edc use. Great response! Thank you

Thank you for letting me know I’m not alone in my appreciation for a good titanium wire clip. Thanks sincerely for your reply

I'm personally a huge fan of this overall shape for a knife. The handle is relatively high above the edge, and the tip is relatively low with respect to the midline of the blade. There's a whole thread over here dedicated to examples of this flavor of knife. Some of us are just crazy for them, and it helps that they're a little unusual. ;)

I like the clip placement, really pushes a knife into the edge of a pocket.
