Tell me the drawbacks of my edc choice

Hard to use, that way... and trips through the washing machine would take a heavy toll.
On a more serious note, that is one of my most frequently carried traditionals.
Lol believe it or not, I’m just scatterbrained enough to have put a couple of my fav users through a mean spin cycle. Always love to see a nice traditional being put to use

I've been tempted many times to try out the SpydieChef, but so far have leaned different directions when it came time to drop the cash. But in terms of on the fly chef knives, I've found an odd little thing that I've actually taken a liking to. My family think I a bit weird (ok, for more reasons than I can count). But when we visit family for any meal-type gatherings, I always drop this funny little SanYouGo in my pocket.

I picked it up originally as a novelty. But it has since been used many times. And greatly appreciated when actually used. It has always driven me completely nuts when asked for help with food prep in someone's home, then not be able to find a knife sharper than a butter knife. A very, very dull butter knife. So now this little guy gets sharpened up, stropped, and set to the side until the next family event. :D

The only slight criticism is the short blade; a longer one would be better for kitchen work. But it sounds like you don't use it in the kitchen much, so . . . it's perfect. I would recommend a used Military for your next knife (the price of new ones just went up by 19%).

WOW! That’s a lot of blade in a little package. Does it still feel good in your hand after you’ve been doing kitchen prep work w/ it for some time? I should have one around, looks like it’d get some good use

I've never really used it for a long period of time. But felt good when needed. They have since come out with a ChefYouGo, that is a bit larger. With a stubby chef profile rather than the stubby Santoku.

If you want to hear some criticism of if go watch the Nick Shabazz review of it. But since you like it so much I suggest you don't. It's a potential recipe for dissatisfaction with something you like.

I like Nick's reviews and appreciate that he's very thorough and knows a fair amount about folders. I often don't agree with his opinion on the usability of a knife.

Thanks for the heads-up! I actually will go check it out. Negative reviews & valid criticisms are more constructive to me than a bunch of praise, so Nick’s review should be helpful for me. Thank you for pointing me in that direction. Don’t worry, I won’t get butthurt by anything he has to say ;)
