Tell me why I need a Techno.

I bought the S30V version because it was on sale. I already have a Cold Steel Mini Lawman in CTS-XHP.

The techno was in my EDC rotation for a year and I loved the knife at the time . Stopped using if for about six month and I went to put it back into my rotation and I just can't get back into it . If I was you I'll try to pick one up at the exchange . IMHO it's not worth MAP .

I own maybe 50 Spydercos, and the Techno may be the only one that I've sold. To me, it is style over substance, meaning that I don't really see what the point of a short, thick blade is. It is certainly not made for slicing, and to me slicing is what knives are supposed to do.

Now, subjectively you (or anyone) may think its the best knife ever, and that's groovy. You clearly want one, and I think you should get it. You may love it, and you can always recoup 80% of its purchase price if you don't.

There is something sorta cool about it. The titanium, the clip, the blue backspacer. So as jewelry it totally rocks. But for peeling apples and doing knife stuff - not so much.

This is the exact way i feel over this knife. Plus there is not enough exposure on the hole to open it easily.

I got one because it looked cool. It feels good in hand, easy to open and close. Yes it's not a great slicer, but the XHP gets super sharp and I love that.
I made it a slicer by grinding the blade thinner, now it's a great slicer.

I don't like small Knives, I carry mostly 3.5-4.5in blades but for some reason the techno is my favorite little knife. I guess it's because it's over built and fills the hand well so it isn't awkward too use. I finally got one on the way it'll be here today, super excited too add it to my spyderco collection.

You know how sometimes the leader of the gang is the little guy because he's so tough the bigger guys don't mess with him. Well that's the Spyderco Techno.
