Tell Us About Your Knife Loaning Experiences

Not really a lending story but still...
One of my buddies is always losin knives. So his girlfriend bought him some Gerber from wal-mart. He was using and the locked buckled on him and cut his finger really bad and he had to superglue it and he couldn't do anything with for a couple of days. Then it happens to him again... By then I would have gotten rid of it or stopped carrying it. But I saw him last week and he was using it again. I asked him why and he said it was a gift so he has to use it. He then asked to use my Bk-14 so I let him use and now he is going to buy one lol

Just don't. Ever. Unless (a) you don't care about the knife, and (b) don't care about who you loan it to.

I lended a Shrade Sharpfinger to a careful good friend for his stay at my cabin. Upon returning it the sheath stitching was destroyed because he would return the knife backwards into the sheath. I will never lend out knives to anyone other than a boxcutter.
