Tell Us your FAVORITE Knife CO's

Kershaw and Spyderco, for pretty much the same reasons: Near-perfect build quality (in my experience), very functional designs (more Spyderco than Kershaw, but true for both), outstanding customer service, great overall value.

I tend to give Spydercos as gifts for these same reasons... The last two knives I gifted to people were Spydies (a yellow Salt I PE for my surfer uncle and a Persistence for my step-brother), and I'm planning to give my apartment-mate a Centofante 3 for her birthday (she's a knife nut like me, but much less addicted).

ESEE
Becker
Kershaw
Ka-Bar

In that order.

Those are the only ones with whom I've had experience, and that experience was a good one. I'd say co.'s like Busse, SR, SY, BRKT, Fallkniven, and others, but I've just really not had the opportunity to handle them.

  1. Mora (Frost's of Sweden/Erik Frost, KJ Eriksson, Mora of Sweden, Hultafors, Erik Jönsson)
  2. EKA
  3. Fällkniven
  4. Victorinox/Wenger
  5. Opinel
  6. Spyderco
  7. Kershaw
  8. Buck

Here is an updated chart, It should be know that all company's listed as well as a few forgotten have a great reputation and I would think that the #'s reflect which company a person does there most business with. Thank you for you participation in this very unofficial survey.

traditional folding-GEC

modern folding-i dont have a huge amount of experience with this category but i'm digging spyderco.

fixed blade-same as above but i really like what esee has to offer.

multi-tools-leathermen

Folders

A tie between Kershaw and Emerson.

Fixed

Not too brand specific on fixed blades , I'm all over the place on fixed but I have no interest in any fixed blades by Spyderco , Benchmade or Kershaw.
I tend to stick with Mora , Fallkniven...
