This has been the crappiest winter ever! Nonstop snow with another major storm expected this week. Freezing temperatures, the coldest since moving here. And some of the windstorms have been incredible.

10 p.m. on Monday evening. The outside temperature right now is four degrees below zero!! The wind chill is -19, and that's five degrees warmer than this morning!

This freakin' sucks. Motorcycling would be suicide. The convertble is stuck in a snow drift. And if I put on enough clothes to go mountain biking, I wouldn't be able to pedal.

This whole global warming deal isn't working out the way I had imagined...

Anyone else catching a big chill tonight? I see the last storm that glanced over us has made a mess in the Mid-South.

Lucky me, Texas is not so cold.

It did freeze this morning though. Couldn't go above 40MPH haha

It's all melted now though, back to 80MPH down the freeway! Wooo! Sposed' to be in the high teens and low 20's the rest of the week I think? No precipitation however.

Out here in the 'burbs of the nation's capital, it's been warm enough the last few days for folks to go around in short sleeve shirts, and sometimes shorts, too!

Definitely not normal for January around here.

I am just south of B-More and I agree with you, I ate out on the Patio today. Its going to get colder but man has it been unseasonably warm.

Tell me about it. I think this has been the warmest winter weather KY has ever seen! I went to all the trouble back in the fall of getting my winter clothes out and washing them and everything, and now I've barely gotten to wear them. The way I look at is if I go through all the trouble of preparing for winter, it could at least get cold!

I live in Grand Forks, North Dakota....

let me go look at the temp outside as I write this post..

-12 below zero...hey it warmed up!

If it's really -19 below where you are, then here is something to do for some fun.

Boil some water, place in a cup , go outside and toss the water into the air.

at around -20 below such water turns into snow before it hits the ground.

This is the most mild winter I've experienced in Ohio since moving here in 97. I think we've only had two or three days or snowfall that actually stuck to the ground for more than a few hours. Usually we'd be encased in ice and snow right now. Instead we're getting rain and half-hearted winds.

It's pretty cold here in Denver, but at least it's above zero. Yesterday it got down to minus three.

Check out the city of Craig, in NW Colorado. Yesterday morning the temp got down to -35 °F there.

Right now it is -5 in Pioche. We have an expected high of 32. Been a cold winter so far.

was 55 a few days ago-now its 18 and dropping like a mall ninja at a pirate convention-lol

Well here in eastern Washington State the cold snap of the last week is almost over. Right around zero for a week with a warm front coming in this evening. Just checked the temp on Mt Spokane and it shows 22 degrees elev. 4700', here in town 6 degrees at 2500', go figure. Should have snow this afternoon. Should be great cross country skiing this weekend. Keep warm!

We've had record-setting cold temps here in So Cal the last few days. Nothing compared to what most of the country is going through, for sure, but it's damn cold when there are below freezing temps in downtown L.A....during daylight hours. Has'nt been this cold here in decades.

It has been a pretty mild winter for the most part this season in the Baltimore metro area. About ten really cold days in November, December and January. Today started out around 50 degrees, and will plummet to 30 tonight. I think we're supposed to go back up to the 40's the middle of the week. You guys can keep those blizzards and ice storms though.

Yeap , wierd weather.
Fresno and the valley gets cold during the winter but not like this.
Saturday night I went for a walk about 9:30pm and about froze my butt off lol , what amazed me though was that puddles of water from the days sprinklers were already frozen , that is pretty odd for Fresno.
I'm not complaining though , I love winter. :)

We are having our fourth snow dump right now. This weekend it bounced between 5-10 degs in the morning. Since this fall we have had 9 power outages. One was for five days.

Enjoy the warm weather over there ont he east coast. Nature has a way of balancing things out. We had a very warm winter two years ago and now we are paying the piper.

It's starting to come back on us already. Yesterday I was out in short sleeves and it felt great. Today it's the middle of the day, and it's only up to 30 degrees. Much warmer than some of the places you guys have mentioned, but still pretty cold compared to what it has been here.

That is really something, and for me, ironic. I moved from LA two years ago, to my ancestral home in Maine. Oh, how my relatives warned my wife of the terrible winters! Our first one, last year, was very mild--I only got the snowblower out four times. This year, even milder! We got our first significant snow yesterday.

Is the world upside down or what? I should've watched that Al Gore movie.

A very positive 4 degrees on the edge of the Mojave when I woke up this morning!! Think I'll slather on the SPF-50 and go outside for an afternoon baste when it gets to 32.

Nah, nah, nah! Yesterday afternoon I sat outside in my lawn chair, eating a granola bar, drinking a can of V8, and fondling a big knife while wearing my shorts and a T-shirt. Life here in the Florida Panhandle is pretty darned good compared to what a lot of your poor folks have to put up with. :D
