Hello everyone,

I am trying to make some stamps to mark my blades with. I have one that I ordered made of O1. I generally use it with a 12 ton bottle jack press and it works great. I have a few of my own ready to HT made of 1084 and 1095. I have a kiln and can achieve full hardness or close to it. So my question is what should I do for tempering? Any Ideas? Or maybe a target hardness to shoot for?

Thanks

You want it tough, not hard. I would shoot for Rc56-58. After the main tempering, draw the shank down even lower with a torch.
