Is there a proper way to to temper muliple blades at once? or is therea limit on how many you temper i have been usin an old oven i have but have been tempering one at a time. any answer would be great.Thank you in advance.

Your fine to temper multiple blades. Get you some oven thermometers though to make sure your oven heat is the same. I temper in the middle to back of my oven. The heat at the door is 10 to 15deg cooler.

I’ve done multiple blades at one time it helps if they are only 1 type of steel and not mixed steels and that you want to hit the same final hardness with all of them. If so you are good to go. My home oven is a bit unreliable so I sandwich my blades between 2 thick aluminum sheet pans to moderate the temperature fluctuations. I don’t think we are eeeking out the very last performance out of our blades so so you should be in the ball park.
Good luck,
Ray

Are you only talking about tempering or are you talking about full heat treat? Tempering without hardening isn't useful and most people that harden for you, also temper. Also, what kind of steel are you using? If you are hardening tool steels, it may make a big difference how many you do at a time because they may cool to unacceptable levels between blade quenches.

Rob!

actually I am using 1095 steel and it was already heat treated and quenched and i am not mixing different steels so i was just making sure that it was possible to temper more than one blade at a time. thank you for the advice.
