tempering springs on folders

What temperature do you use to temper the springs on folders? Especially 440C and ATS34. I am currently tempering by color using the old blacksmithing methods. I am looking for something better.

Shotgunone: I temperATS-34 springs @ 1100 deg. F , and 440-C @ 1050-1075 deg. F , That gives you around R\C-46-49.Paul

Paul, how long do you keep them at those temps, and do you ramp them at all?

Oz: I do all tempering 2 hrs. @ temp. and 2 tempers. I put them in a pre heated furnace at the tempreture I am going to temper them at. These tempreturs ar what I use in my furnaces they may vary in other furnaces. Paul.
