I've researched this topic extensively. I'm cryoing some 440c blades now and have found a number of different graphs/opinions on the tempering temp for this steel. They range from 200f to 400f. I know suppliers have their own data sheets but this range makes it difficult to choose a curve. Alpha knife supply and USA Knife Maker/Kovak knives (from the Evenheat website) differ a lot. Any thoughts?

ya might get better answers in the shop talk and makers forums? just a thought.

Best to read a lot about cryo before you play ! Most have many misconceptions about cryo . There are two threads now on Shop Talk with good up to date info. There's one about tempering and one about CPM-3V. I've posted some good stuff there.
