What are your thoughts? I have two versions. I will actually make both to get practice. The image has boxes 1x1 inch boxes except the last box at the end of the handle is 0.5x1 inches.

I know I probably shouldn't go for that false backedge look for my first tries. But I can dream

What steel are you planning to use? How thick is it going to be?

Personally, I'm not fond of the bevel depth... too shallow. I would use more of the blade to make a better bevel angle.

I would leave the handle as a simple handle for your first knife. That finger hole is a lot of work that you aren't ready for, yet. You also might want to move the front pin back just a tad.
The blade looks OK. As you suspect, the grind drawn won't be an easy first grind. Do the swedge last, after the bevels are complete. That way if you decide against it you haven't taken away any metal. FWIW, the grind drawn may also create a weak tip.
