Temporary Make-Do sheaths?

wide welt of cardboard in a layered sheath with duck tape works alright in a pinch.
I had one for a SR sword before I bought a sheath.

The Coke is necessary to kill off the taste of the Crown.

As homemade, make-do sheaths for large knives, machetes and axes, I have had good luck with scraps of carpeting. Carpeting can be easily cut to shape, then sewn or held together with duct tape. Retention straps can be made with strips of Velcro that are sold in hardware store. I have heard cardboard called "hobo leather"; perhaps carpeting can be called "yuppie leather" Faiaoga

Me too :)

I got a thank you card in the mail today from Pepsi, Along with the shirt and bag posted above. Im going to send them a copy of that picture :)

That's because the Coke actually tastes good; the bottles of Pepsi are just props!................:D

I got the coke 2 liter out the neighbors recycling bin to take the picture to send to Pepsi.

I have an open bottle of pepsi in the fridge as well but i didnt want to shake it up. I can take a picture of a few empty Pepsi 2-liters and literally hundreds, maybe a thousand, of empty cans if you would like lmao

You must have CLP on your tongue! That stuff is not food safe so be careful using it on your knives for food prep, otherwise you cant taste what is really good anymore :p

WW, if you can find leather, you can just glue it up without stitching and it will hold for a few days.

NO leather :( I have some sewing stuff somewhere... If i had leather Id just attempt a sheath stitched with 550 cord :)

I could order some, but at this point it would not make it in time. And Lennox made me a sheath for my NMFSH, so i just need something for this one trip until that arrives. The way it cutt throught the nylon walmart machete sheath im scared to put it in my bags, or with my gear... That joker is SHARP!!!

I used the protective cardboard sheath that my TGLB came with and wrapped it in duct tape and made a belt loop for it out of cardboard which I Crazy glued and duct taped to it. It looked a bit stupid but it worked till I got my leather sheath from Leatherman.

Cut a garden hose to correct length then spit it longwise in one "side". Slip the cutting edge through the slit into the hose. Hose will grip sides of blade. I've been using such for axes, hatchets, and machetes for years.
