Well, the Himilayan Imports forum is definately affecting the rest of the site, and I'm shutting it down until I can determine the cause.

Use this forum for HI topics until I can get the other one fixed.

I just spoke with Spark and he said he had worked on the forum for five hours yesterday and actually had it up and running for a bit but then it took another dive. He's busy on other stuff and told me he would get back to it ASAP. He is unable to determine exactly what happened.

If he is working on the same server that's counting the votes let me know. I think I have just found another box of lost votes too!

Do they really think anyone is buying that story about them just finding a box full of votes in the most Democratic county in Florida just as Bush starts to pull ahead in the count?
 
It occurs to me though we may have the same number of posts as a forum that's working fine, we probably have more pictures. That could make the forum many times the size -- 1k of pure text would be a longer post than most, and one picture can be 50-100k or more.

Bear in mind, though, that we can only put the addresses to the pictures. The pictures themselves are stored on other sites (Photopoint, Zing).
 
Pakcik Bill --- I guess a sort of backup procedure has to be done to Himalayan Imports Archives (18,000+ posts) and Khukuri FAQ ... ! If the same problem happen to those sites ... what a loss!
