I have been [tempted] by a BUCK of another to send some of my 1960's & 1970's BUCK 110's & 112's after Recently vieiwng a video posted on Youtube of a Buck #112 owner after recieving it back from a Re-Conditioning from BUCK knife shop. It looked great! but heres the thing I didn't see it before it went off to be re-conditioned. He said on the video its free of charge under BUCK WARRANTY and the only cost to the owner is shipping it back & forth, Is all worth it?

#2 is there any BUCK Co. Video's of what they actaully do? in these re-conditionings.

#3 on E-BAY I see sellers of the 110 & 112's stating as a selling point that ALL Buck knives are covered under warranty for life. I know they are, and heres the big [but] isn't it only for the ORIGINAL OWNER? and not 2nd and 3rd party owners. And if the WARRANTY covers only for the original owner, then what is the charge for RECONDITIONING of knife by 2nd hand owner.

I would love for you all to share your stories & photos of BUCK reconditioned classic 110's & 112's.

$6.95 per knife and they pay return shipping. Can't beat it, Their team of employees do outstanding work.

Doug, when you say $6.95 per knife does that mean under the WARRANTY? or just a "normal charge" if I send it in & not being the ORIGINAL OWNER?

Thank you Doug....

the warranty papers that you fill out from the knife box my 60's & 70's knives had them. Of course today because of computers at the point of sale some dealers fill it out right at the "point of sale" you don't see them doing it, it happened to me when I bought my STIHL chainsaw, When I questioned later about the warranty card and where is it, because it was not in with the [MANUAL] they told me with a laugh we did that when you bought it right on screen as we filled out bill sale to give you. Does BUCK or their dealers [today] do that I have no clue. I did not recieve a warranty registration when I recently bought a 110 from L.L.Bean.

any owner of any buck knife 6.95 sharpen and buff. will fix anything else for extra.

The Buck warrantee is forever so long as the knife has not been modified or abused. I have sent them a few knives that were fleamarket finds , that had obviously abused they charged 6.95 and shipped them back for free loking like new. Last year I sent in a 532 that was 10 years old with a note telling them that I picked it up at a show and I had no idea of it's history or how many owners it had . Buck repaired it free of charge and mailed it back to me at no charge. That my friend is how Buck makes life long customers.

If you're sending in a knife for a spa treatment because it's dull, scratched blade, gouges in the brass, nicks in the wood, basically the results of normal use what part of the "warranty" applies?

Buck's warranty is pretty self explanatory:

Just box them up and send them in. You can ship a bunch of them in a flat rate box and unless you need to pay for a new blade or something you'll end up getting back a beautifully refurbished knife for 1/4th the cost of a new 110.

So Red your saying is that they changed the WARRANTY since I bought my first 110 in the early 70's. I'm only going by what I read and own, but Duly Noted & I appreciate the clarification. Thank you Red.

Awesome Badhammer, thank you so much for the [detailed] report on their "work ticket" on how they go about it.....and thank you for the link on the NEW WARRANTY "main line" from the new warranty changes, "No matter where you bought it."

I guess that also means "No matter who you bought it from?

THE BUCK FOREVER WARRANTY
The Buck Knives Forever Warranty is pretty much what it says. A Buck Knife is built to last. But if for some reason, your Buck is defective due to materials or workmanship, you can return it to us for repair. No matter where you bought it.

We will repair your knife, including parts, labor and or replacement with a new knife at our discretion. Keep in mind, repair is not always possible or practical. We will replace your knife with the same or one that is comparable if your knife is no longer available. Please note if your knife has sentimental value when you send the knife to us.

They use to have a [registration] card too....LOL So what year did they change all this..... :) I think my VANGUARD & SKINNER I bought back in early 90's had the green pamphlet with the reigistration card & warranty I'm pretty sure I had them with knives.

No photos of peoples knives who made it to the BUCK SPA, I guess it wouldn't matter anyways with out seeing the [before] photos then the [after] together......

Okay I will break the ice. Here is a Buck 112 that I got off the bay cheap. I sent it to Buck and paid for a new blade. The cleanup was included in the $10 fee.

They have Damascus blades right for a special order don't they? I'm getting hooked on them...LOL and the STONE WASH blade.

Thank you for that important info. I know I have been seeing them on E-BAY an here. I was wondering if they were [private] knife makers making them, but in the last few days being on here I better understood that they were making them with the Damascus blade but did not know they had discontinued them. Thanks again Tony an have a great weekend!
