Took a reciprocating saw and cut a 8"x8" square hole centered on a stud. The sheetrock was not screwed to the stud in this square and was only glued. Stuck tenacious into cut about a 1/2" and barely pried against the sheetrock just enough so I could get my fingers behind it to pull it off. SNAP!!!!!!!. Had to take my para2 to work today and I like it to much to use for work. So I need a new knife in the same price range as the tenacious. What would you guys recommend that has a stronger blade but not so expensive to use for work. Thanks.

I use a gayle bradley every day at work (im a carpenter) its more money, but its awesome and it will last

I do heating and air and dont need to pry on much.

To be honest I was shocked at the small amount of force it took to snap the blade.

Im interested in the endura. Looking for pics of one with a sabre grind now.

Thanks.

Look at the thickness of the blade at the spine, now notice that the hole interrupts most of this thicker material. Now see how much thinner the blade is at the bottom of the hole. Not much thickness left to resist bending. However I would not have even tried to do as much as you did with one of my knives.

This thread isn't suited for the Spyderco forum anymore. I'm moving it to General.

Some folks don't pry at all with their blades, but for me and a work knife, I do what I need to do. I don't carry a keychain with 3lbs of dodads on it, and I also don't wear a toolbelt anymore. There have been times I have to cut something or do something that requires me putting my knife in a bind.

I like knives that can take it.

Also the Kabar Mule is a fine, stout blade.

CS Recon 1 can take a beating too.

Good luck, brother.
