Hey everyone, I thought you might like to know that the titanium low rider deep carry pocket clip on USAKnifeMakers.com will fit the Spyderco Tenacious for tip UP carry. I used a needle diamond file to widen out the screw holes. Took maybe 30min total. If you used a Dremel this could go much more quickly. Anyways, these deep pocket clips sell for around $7 and if you don't mind a little tinkering it comes out cheaper than using STR. Obviously not the same fit and finish but it gets the job done.

Hey pbradley1,
nice job, I was talking to STR about getting some low-riders for my Tenacious and Ambitious and BOOB out of nowhere I come across your thread. Good job and thank you.
Was it easy to widen the holes? Any wobble in the clip after mounting?
Pictures look awesome.
thanks brother

boob?

Yeah Baby!! Pbradley1 that looks real good. I prefer a submerged carry with a lanyard. Wonder if it would work on my Manix as well. I'm gonna order a couple and play with em...

Do you know if the hole pattern is the same on the PM2 as it is on the Tenacious? Or, do you have a PM2 you could try this clip out on?
Thanks

It was a bit of a pain in the rear but you don't need any tools except for a diamond needle file, which you can get at Home Depot easy enough. If you have a Dremel it would be a lot quicker. There is no wobble at all if you mount it for tip UP carry, right or left. If you wanted to mount it for tip Down carry it would be a problem b/c the pivot screw gets in the way. I used the factory screws to mount it though so it was definitively worth it for for 45 minutes of grinding with a file. You will have to grind the hole out so it is pretty thin on the edge but it works great. See the picture below.

There isn't a way to mount this clip and still have use of the lanyard hole unless you drilled out a hole through the center of the clip. That would work very well though. Tip DOWN does not fit perfectly because the pivot screw is in the way. It might be possible to mount it for tip down carry on the side with the Spyderco Spider logo on the blade but it might take some modification. The pin on my knife sticks past the g-10 by about 0.5 millimeter so the pocket clip would probably wobble unless you either took that point down or thinned out that portion of the pocket clip. Good luck!

I wish I did have a PM2 I could mount it on but I don't own one right now. I did see a post on the net where somebody did the same thing with a paramilitary, but I don't know if it was the PM2. I will try to find a link to the post and put it up for you.

Awesome find!! Thank you. I was just thinking about wanting to add some deep pocket clips to my other knives after picking up my zt0561.
:)

I made a lowrider clip for my tenacious from an old sawzall blade then finished it with a little gun blue.

I see these are out of stock. What are the chances of getting one made?

ETA: I see you have the thin style in stock. Do you have pictures of that style on a Spyderco Tenacious?

Boob out of nowhere? Pleasant surprise, unless you mean year u were attacked by a dumb person, or a bird.

Considering that titanium is a softer material, some hardened steel drill bits (the kind usually sued for wood but rated for steel) would make quick work out of the holes.

Also, most Spyderco knives use the same clip. Same with Benchmade.

Wow this is an oldie Goldie. My clip I made has held up great. It's still black too. No rust :)

When searching for a low ride pocket clip for my Tenacious, this thread surfaced and was exactly what I was looking for. I ordered the thin clip from the link the OP provided. We'll see how it looks/works when it arrives.

How did it work for you? Any issues?
