I am considering one of these (tenacious or byrd flight g10)

Are there any significant differences between these two?

Which would you recommend and why?

Thanks,

M.

Both are good knives. Here are some things to consider.

Tenacious: Liner lock, more cutting edge, full flat grind, 4 way clip, round hole

Flight: Frontlock, thinner tip, tip-up carry, hollow saber grind, comet shaped hole, blade angles downwards more, cheaper price

Go with whatever appeals to you most / appears to be most comfortable in hand.

My vote would be the tenacious, but thats just me.
I prefer a linear lock and I don't like the comet shaped hole.
Also a flat grout blade will perform better for most utility tasks IMHO;)

I'm with Calder. Byrd knives are nice knives for the price, no doubt, but I just cannot seem to get on board with the comet shaped hole. It just doesn't look or feel right to me. The Tenacious is a handsome knive and the full flat grind is another plus.

Good luck,
Jon

I love my Byrds, but I always wanted one with full flat grind, but there wasn't any. Then along came the Tenacious and I'm so glad that I have it now. It kicked the Cara-Cara out of my edc-rotation. I'm not quite sure, but the tenacious is also a bit lighter than the flight.

Go for the Tenacious, you won't regret it. I had a Byrd G-10 Cara cara and it now sits in a desk draw. The Tenacious is lighter and carries better than the cara cara.

i also prefer the Tenacious....it's lighter with an "open frame" build, the linerlock is solid, there's jimping on the spine cusp (which isn't on the Flight), and I prefer the full flat grind over the hollow one of the Flight, 4 way clip mounting on the Tenacious vs 2-ways on the G-10 Flight; good luck deciding :)
