Will you economy conscious Spydie guys fall for the Persistance?
I think I'm going to take of the clip and pocket carry this knife. I like the size and feel so far. Smaller but still gives you the feeling its a burly knife with the backbone to do a heavier job.

My only three Spyderco knives:
VG10/Sage Endura 4, Tenacious and Persistance

Those are the best size comparison pics I've seen of the two, thanks!

I carry my Tenacious almost every day and have a Persistence on the way in the mail. I really like the look of the smaller/stubbier blade, the Tenacious has a tendency to scare people =P I think I'll be carrying the Persistence for a while at least.

But if in doubt, get both, its not like most people couldn't afford that ;)

Personally I prefer the Tenacious as I like a slightly larger knife. They both are pretty burly knives for the size.

Flatlander1963 - looks like your Endura gets alot of use!!

It doesn't get near the work it deserves. First Class blade on that one.

None for me no choil..........
Far enough, it just seems like folks are kinda quite on this new knife.

Where did you get the Persistance? I dont see it anywhere including spydie web.

KnifeCenter.com is were I got mine although the price has already gone up $2 per knife since I put in my order.

No, because it has a fat blade and not enough point. The Tenacious looks good I think the Persistence looks too fat and just not right. Looks like the blade shrunk more than the handle. Something is out of proportion it looks like.

Actually i think most spydie guys dont have a big problem with it being china made because they know how kick a$$ the value is, and how well it is made.

I think a smaller tenacious wouldnt work for me. I think the Tenacious is almost too small for me and my hands. It works great, but if it was an inch shorter I wouldnt own it.

I'll be getting a Persistence very soon. I'll have a review up, and I think it will be a re-hash of my Tenacious review (very good).

It doesn't really fit in with my uses, I guess. It doesn't really have a weight advantage over the tenacious for being smaller, nor a price advantage (they're both around $30-$35). To say it a different way, for EDC, it's weight/size-to-blade ratio isn't enough to displace my tenacious (actually I mostly use a pacific salt for non-work EDC now...but, uhh, ignore that), and isn't so much cheaper that it would make a better knife to beat on (which is what I use my tenacious for these days). I guess if the tenacious was the same price but 1-2 ounces more, I'd drop it for a persistence, but the tenacious is just too good for what I use it for.

Previous post caused me to weight my Tenacious and Persistance.
T-4.5oz
P-4.0oz

The Persistance is only 1/4 inch shorter @ 4 1/8th inches closed but it does feel like a smaller knife. I expect this is due to a small width difference but has more to do with the shorter blade tucking away in a tighter closed postion as compared to the longer Tenacious blade.

I like it for what I've decided to do with it which is front pocket carry. It'll be/is bobbin around with the change and car keys. The Tenacious still gets clipped for tip up carry when it can displace my Buck Vantage Pro from that job.

looks like a good knife, but I won't buy one because of the china thing. Until I feel they clean up heir act over there I won't support them. I trust spyderco to do their best, but I still am no fan of the envronmental standards, and the poverty over there.

The Tenacious is 3 + 3/8 inchs vs the Persistence at 2 + 6/8 inches. 5/8 inch difference, over half an inch.

I was attempting to agree that the size of the frame and the weight were not significantly different as a earlier poster had pointed out. But yes you're are right about the blade being 5/8ths of an inch shorter.

On a side bar, I use my Persistance on my grilled chicken tonight. It did a workman like job to be sure. :D

Looks even better than the Tenacious! I might me down for one of these!

Oh, you had said closed. I failed to read :grumpy:
