Sure I could have. But then the missed time could have thrown my coworkers into disarray, which in turn might have offset production, which in turn might have caused a missed deadline, which in turn might have lead to a shipment breakdown, which in turn might have caused...

You get the picture, right?

Long story short, because of a chain reaction of events beyond your control, YOU might have lost YOUR job and might be eating stale Cheerios without milk in your three-day-old underwear because you couldn't afford the change for the laundry mat.

Oh yeah, you had to sell all your INFI to make bills. Sorry about that. :D :D :D
