I've been looking for a tent to replace the old "Hillary" one my family has had for years. I wanted something that I could use for backpacking, andit needed to have space for a couple of people (or a person and a giant German Shepherd) and some gear. I didn't want to spend all that much, so 4 season was pretty much out of the question. I had bought a french mil-surp tent of sportsmasguide, but it wasn't at all what I wanted. But it was only 20 bucks, and I'm planning on deconstructing it to use as a tarp.

I checked a certain discount website for a certain backcountry gear website and found this tent on sale for $134. While it's not exactly what I wanted and had a couple of negative reviews, I couldn't pass up the deal.

NOTE THIS IS NOT WHERE I BOUGHT IT, NOT DEALSPOTTING, THE DEAL IS NOW OVER

The tent was most of what I wanted, vestibule, 3 person capacity, footprint included, rainfly, aluminum poles, light enough for backpacking. I need to see if I can get a gear loft for it, but I'm really happy and excited for my new tent.

Anyone have any experience with Big Agnes? This tent specifically?

Once I get it and get out to use it I'll post a review. Right now I'm just hoping that I like it.

Nice tent. I have a 1 man bivy from Eureka that I just checked out. It has been in storage for like 2 years and seems to be in great shape still. I was worried about dry rot and such.

I have a Big Agnes Seedhouse 1 and I absolutely love it. It's the roomiest solo tent imaginable with a weight that's at the low end of the range. The quality seems very good... I've used it on two different eight-day bicycle trips (it gets set and and taken down every day) and it's been perfect.

I'm impressed with the design and performance and if I needed to buy a larger tent, I'd be looking at their products first.

I hope you enjoy your tent as much as I do mine!

Stay sharp,

Looks good. I like the fact that it has aluminum poles. Just wish they could have shaved off 8 oz to get the weight down to 5 lb.

it's a website that runs short term deals on small quantities of gear/clothing. It is affiliated with another larger full service backcountry gear website. The deal is no longer in effect, and there was only 18 tents avaliable at that price within a 20 minute time limit. I got totally lucky and checked at the right time.
