San Gorgonio Wilderness. this one wasn't quite set up in the picture, but it was about the same after i guyed it down completely. i used some big logs as the side anchors to be able to adjust the tarp infinitely in case the wind changed, etc.

Joshua Tree.

good ol' cheap tarps and some extendable poles and some line. lots of sun protection.

boulders did the rest, and the rock wall kept us warm at night, and cool during the day.

How about a little tarp city (By the way it was pouring rain when everyone setup, so no fancy set ups, but they all worked well)

Currently, I am using this Timberline Outfitter 6. I'll be down in the Ocala NF Sunday through Wed, camping and hunting. This tent maintains about a 20 degree difference between inside and outside temps.

This is a tent and tarp set up that sheltered myself and my two Brothers this summer up on the AT.

Here's a day and night picture of our canvas range tepee. It's great for truck or horseback camping (heavy).
