Here's our camp last year at Wolf Lake , Western Alberta. My wife likes splitting firewood ( she is almost as good as the old man )

No shots of me here though. I'm out in the woods grubbing around or something. :)

I have actually used it lots. I just haven't take any pictures of it other than setting it up in the back yard there :D

Those Cooke Custom Sewing tarps are awesome - they had a 10 x 10 on sale for $70 recently ... I should of snagged one

This is a great thread.

I love seeing what everybody does/how everybody sets up.

The more I look at the setups, the more I want to get a tarp to use instead of a tent.

I highly recommend the tarp as a camping shelter. It's great to wake up, roll over, and see the sunrise on the wilderness. Or look out at the stars during the night.

Get a bivy or a hammock to use with it though, would be my recommendation.

What IS that shelter? Kind of looks like a giant clam... or a head-on shot of one of those weird bottom-feeding fish from the unknown depths....

Stay sharp,

Quechua XL 2 second tent, excellent when you runaway from party in a middle of night, strait into woods, and it is raining :D:D (but it is bit cumbersome to carry, folded looks like a big plate),just take it out of bag and throw it on a ground and it is ready,if there is no wind you can go without stakes, normally it is dark green:D
