Can someone lead me to some terminology of the knife.
Choil, plunge, tang etc...
Seems pretty simple and basic but......may be a good exercise for a beginner like myself.

Thanks
Chad

I'm not sure that I've ever seen a comprehensive list of terms.

You could try Spyderco edge-u-cation on their website. GEC's website has a list of terms used for traditional knives (for instance, covers instead of scales). Emerson has some stuff on their site regarding chisel grinds. Stacy (bldsmith) can lead you in the right direction for anything Japanese.

If all of that fails, you can just ask.

Hopefully someone else has a better idea. :D

Jay Fisher has a website with over 50 pages....or at least he used to and on his website is a diagram of a knife with arrows pointing to parts and all the different names given to them. He had material about various steels as well. You might search his info.
