So how bout a Terrasaur picture thread while I wait for mine??

Both are top notch bushcraft knives, two of the best that exist (I think I've used every major design type). Brian puts great curves on the handles of both, and great edges. I like the size of both (length and blade width). The one thing I favor on the basic bushcrafter, however, is that the swell is a little closer to the cutting edge. That's totally a personal preference issue. The more central swell on the terrasaur, I believe, is based on the influence from the Skookum when Joe designed it.

Here are a couple of mine from my last major couple of outings.

In the Adirondacks last fall.

Brian, what steel do you recommend? I see you offer O1, A2, and D2. I sent you an email about a week ago to put me on the list for your Bushcraft. Wasn't sure about the steel. I can't wait to get one of those.

Brian's work is top notch. His execution of the designs are flawless. I hope to own one one day too.

Great pics guys.......Brian you take such nice photos....

Im gonna go out on a limb and tell ya O1..I originally had A2 as my steel choice, and switched to O1 as it seems everyone likes its performance in a scandi grind. Brian told me its his preferance on his personal blades as well.....

Since I can finally post up some pics, Im gonna do a nice review of this one.

I like the look of the Terrasaur. Makes me wonder why I never thought about it when I wanted a scandi...

Fiddleback makes a nice Terasaur as well....I got to play with mtnfolkmikes for a bit while I was out, and as always, Andy makes a damn fine blade. I cant wait to compare the 2 and see if there is a preferance on my part.

I'm obviously far from Brian, but my preference is strongly towards O1 on a scandi. I've had bad luck with A2 on scandis, and D2 is a bastard to sharpen (not worth it). O1 is a great compromise, offering strength and good edge retention, with easy sharpening. Plus it develops a super handsome patina.

I'd be interested to hear that too, amigo.

Yeah, actually I think it was you and Tonym whom I thought of when I switched steels. You guys have handled a massave amount of Scandis between the 2 of you.

Ill keep ya posted man. I also got a chance to play with mikes BCNW O1, and was in love. I dont think I put it down when I was around it. :o The handle is awesome!

Wow, I like this thread. :D Nice to see some pics while I'm waiting for mine to arrive, too.

They look great, all of them. I hear much about how comfy Brian's handles are, which has become somewhat of a holy grail to me. :)

ooohh... that thing looks great Jake... i had to cancel my order with Brian, due to other $$$ obligations.. thought i may still have to pick one up in the not to distant future...:o i have yet to own a knife from Brian..

Ive had my BGA bushie for a while now and had it out this weekend making some snare triggers and general fooling around. It is turning out to be my absolutely favorite knife and the O-1 is taking a great patina. The picture of mine is still on his website. It's the one with the mesquite scales and matching fire steel. The F&F and handle ergonomics is outstanding. Get one if you can!--KV
