Terrible Knives

The Kershaw Carabiner Tool Knife is the worst POS I ever purchased. I made the mistake of using my first post here to criticize it and the "kershaw mafia" started accusing me of making up my problem. Yeah, that's how I spend my time, bad-mouthing a low end kershaw product that I didn't really buy. But unfortunately I did buy it. As I said in my 1st post, the carabiner is a made in china POS with kershaw painted on the blade. The so called bottle opener lifts the cap off a beer as neatly as a spoon could. The carabiner lock would unscrew itself and the screwdrivers were too small to really be useful. To top it off the fit and finish were awful. I bought this worthless thing from an online source...I wish I had seen one in person so I could have avoided the purchase altogether.

Aw, did we hurt your feelings? No one ever accused you of "making up a problem".
You came in, bitched and then continued with sarcastic comments without ever accepting any help or offers from Thomas.

You made it almost 365 days since that thread, how about you try real hard and go for a full year next time.

Wow, thanks for verifying my post! And I'm sorry your little fanboy area is gone. And sorry Ken Onion is gone too. So many good things for kershaw and its peeps!

Who said the "Fan Boy" area is gone...? Look harder...
Ken Onion moved on to bigger and better things... Just because he isn't "with" Kershaw doesn't mean he won't possibly do collaborations in the future.
I'm sorry that you're so butthurt... Take a day off and go fishing, it relaxes me.

They give me crap and I'm supposed to just remain quiet? I had a legitimate beef with a kershaw product and it somehow hurt their feelings. End of story.

The guys at work usually bring thier knives to me when they need sharpening, and I've seen some turds! Mostly $5 knock-offs that have screws missing or so badly stripped in the soft metal that even Loctite has a hard time securing them. Some of these do take a nice edge...for a minute. It's almost like the steel wants to be dull! I have seen a couple of Paraframes - the small ones - that absolutely, positively would not, under any circumstances take anything that resembled an edge. One actually came apart in my hand as I was sharpening it! CRAP!

And the guys always ask how I can spend $100 on a knife in good conscience:rolleyes:

imho the worst expensive knife i ever had was a rekat sifu, mostly due to the horrible lock, the rolling lock, the big bladed sifu just beat the rolling lock to death, i had several, never abused/inertia'd them, and still every one ended up with lock probs.

i wouldnt have one FWIW.

the lock probably didnt help them stay in biz imho.

& i wanted to like them, i did like the ergo's& i like big folders, dont think so? look at my username lol.

I have a few "terrible" knives. Some I bought as curios because they were so badly designed and/or made that they died an early death and any existing examples are now very rare. Some are terrible only because of age and neglect but a bit of TLC and I've managed to bring a couple back from the grave. A few that I've acquired weren't as good as I'd hoped but the only knives I've bought that were a bitter disappointment were a Puma slipjoint (in 1972), a Randall King Phantom (2nd hand) and a CRKT M16-13Z - (the thin liners just didn't inspire confidence - although I quite like the M16-13 LE & Ti versions).

used a gerber gator somthin or other. that was a terrible knife. big fat grip that everything got stuck in. blade was like a trowel. the thing was too big to be a pocketknife though it folded. real awful piece there.

I have one of their neck knives. I don't know what steel they used but it is a bit** to sharpen:(

Boker Subcom fixed blade.

I know a lot of people like them but the sheath didn't fit it, the grinds where uneven, the bead blast looked like crap, and the blade design was useless.

Did I mention it cost fifty dollars? Worst knife I have ever owned.

S&W SWAT first run ,semi serrated. I guess I expected more because S&W was stamped on it. Everytime I resharpened it the edge would pit and that was with a carbine sharpener. I blame myself more for not doing my homework on the quality of the steel and lock. Live and learn.
