Terrorism + Knives...Am I nuts??? HELP!

One of the basic tenants of a totalalitrian govenment is to
dis-arm the people. The point that gets lost is that tenant
means ALL weapons, including knives.

With the uptick in Homeland security folk;s had better be aware
that you assumed civil liberties are not only at stake but are in the
actual process of being taken away in the name of Homeland
defense.

Now ask yourself the question as to why no one ever got away with
attacking our country in ernest before. Simple, the general population
was by and large ARMED. Now with the terrorist attacks all the
Nato countries will have populations that are dis-armed and subject
to the armies of their home countries while the third world will be
armed to the teeth and they hate us. Hmmmmmm....What's wrong
with that picture. A bombs and armies aside it always comes down
the general publics hands to decide how they will live in the end.
Those that have arms can do that........those without ....well ,you get
the picture.

I haven't changed much since 9-11. My awareness for self-reliance and preparedness was awakened when Klinton became President. I still try to add various tools whenever possible, but food, water, guns, ammo, knives, rope, animal traps/snares, radios, boots, coats, etc have been on my mind for quite sometime.

Hopefully 9-11 was a wakeup call to those that weren't quite aware yet...

I have accumulated a few more knives, airguns, and harmonicas since 9-11 but that's a natural process for me!

sgtmike88 couldn't have said it much better.

I always had a pocket sized lockback for work way before terrorism was a household word. I only got into 'real' knives in the last several months. Not because of 9-11, as I don't fly much nor go into tall buildings more than about once a year.

I got my first more recent knives as crappy clones off Ebay. Once I found one (clone of CRKT M-16) I liked, it was a simple jump to the real thing. When I saw the Gerber Applegate Fairbourn folders, I just had to have one of each.

My 'big' knives get rotated, but I always have one. I'm never far from my truck which has all manner of tools, pry bars etc. in it!

I carry a 'big' knife mostly as a tool. I don't really want to stick my greasy hand down into my pocket so I flick out the big sucker to cut hose, zip ties etc. I just dig flicking them too.

It's that 1% possibility that it will be the least bit helpful as a defense tool that keeps me searching for the perfect knife!
