On a brighter note, I just found out that you can still make same day handgun purchases here in Kentucky- after you pass the "instant check". It was that way when I lived here several years ago and I was surprised it hasn't been affected by the Brady Bill. I'm loving Kentucky more every day!

In the meantime, Pala has been able to stay out of the Suspected Terrorist Detention Center in the UK.
 
It's a crime in my country to grow cabbages of mass destruction. Such vegetables hurled at high velocities can cause contusions, lacerations and even death. We even need a permit to carry soft fruit.

Nevada issues permits good for 5 years =/- to your closest birthday. In my case March 19 to June 26, 2002, plus 5 years = June 26, 2007.

Cost so far:

Class = $80
Range fees = $25
Application = $39
StateBI/FBI = $60

Grand Total = $204

On the other hand if I buy a total of 14 guns during that 60 + months I don't have to pay $15 apiece for the Brady fee ( $210 ). I think I can manage 3 guns a year. And renewals are cheaper.

So why do I feel like cursing a blue streak? Isn't this MY government? ( Sometimes you wonder, and other times you're downright suspicious! )
 
Actually I find BillPaxton's posts portraying me as Yosemite Sam kind of humorous. I do live an hour out of the East Gate of Yosemite ( well, an hour at nevada driving speeds ) and the attitude is pretty much the way I come across over the web ( I'm really truly much more saintly than my forum persona would lead you to believe - unless of course I forget my medications... ).
