What I found is that it falls into the international standards of 440C, it is not just a Chinese variant labeled 440C. Same with the 440, it is 440A, meets the standards of that steel. The secret to good steel is the heat treat, and we try to concentrate on that.

One more question about the 440C. Where is it manufactured, China?, or another country and then imported into China? I'm just curious as I know that wherever it is made, it seems to be done correctly, especially in the HT department! I just made a thread here about the B-P Valkyrie, and how a friend used it for an entire week while backpack camping, and how well it did.
