Terry Primos passes his JS cutting test

Wow... I thought the hair splitting thing was a joke! I'm going to save those pictures.

Did you really have to do that under penalty of failing? That seems over the top to me....

In any case congratulations. When do you plan on presenting your knives? Next year at Blade? Are they already reserved / sold? :D

Wow, that is very impressive. I thought the hair splitting was a joke as well. Pretty good advertisement for your work I'd say! Congrats on passing the test.

What are the requirements for passing the MS test?

Congratulations Terry!

I would say that "it's about time" but given Jerry's test I guess you been practicing splitting hair!?

He would have passed by just shaving, but I had him split the hair for two reasons. One to push him to a different level and the other is if I know the tester I have a tendency to push them harder. If it had not been able to split the hair then shaving the arm would have been next. I know it can be done when the blade is right so it was time for him to learn more. He just thought he would have failed if he had not been able to split it. Gotta have my fun where I can.

Well Terry, I'm glad you finally commited to the ABS grading system- I knew your knives were that good when I recieved my El Camino several years ago... To tell you the truth, it would not suprise me if the sharpened swedge on my piece could pass those tests!

Jerry, it's always been both pleasurable and informative when you add to these forums. And from the looks and words about the works of your students... well, I guess they speak for themselves... and volumes, too! :D

Now... Who gets to test your wife when she applies for her stamp, Terry???

:D

Congrats Big Time!
