Terry Siscos Wooden M43 kukri model Example

Just to add, my first M43 was made by Kesar. It is approx 5/16 thick near the handle and quick in the hand, great for Florida bushes and grass. It just doesn't chop wood near as good as the 1/2" thick M 43 made by Sher.

Kesar was called "Old Reliable" by Uncle Bill. He was one of the first Kami's to work for H.I. and would build the traditional models to traditional specs. He wasn't so good with new models/designs, but what he made, he was great at. Wish he was still with H.I..

Sams, do you have any pictures of your M43?

I will get you some, no problem. My point to my post was to make it clear HI makes just about anything someone would want. The gentleman from Australia insinuated there wasn't a light weight M 43 produced by HI. But they do make them.

That sounds like a kukuri built for me. I love the lighter blades around 19-20oz and the curved handle has been calling me. For me, a blade you can carry all day is they one you'll have with you.

There sure are lighter Khukri's available. My 16.5" WWII and 20" Sirupati are proof of that. Just posted a thread showing all my blades and their specs here.
