Yangdu called and told me about computer problems. Some forumites tried to help, but it was to no avail. She finally hired a Geek to come in at 100 bucks an hour or so to solve the problem. Lucky Geek. I thought an insane image might cheer her up, so I suggested driving to Reno and dancing on her sofa while the geek was still there, up and down on the cushions just wearing my underwear. Just like a litte child, see? No worries, no cares.... I figured ten bucks an hour might pay for gas.... And I need the money, too. She laughed but was very matter of fact and business-like when she declined the offer as something she'd rather not see in this lifetime. I don't blame her...but you know, for comic existential relief, I keep trying to do my bit. If she's willing to pay a Geek a 100 bucks an hour to clear his sinuses and tap a few keys on the board why not pay for anything? Anyone ever see a toddler just hop sort of up and down on his feet, laughing crazy? I call it the Baby Dance. I manage to make my family laugh sometimes about it around here...I'm going to save it for their adolescence when the boys start bringing their dates home for dinner.
Anyway, those are the only 'shop notes' I've to pass on. I'm absolutely worthless as technical support, just sort of offer morale boosting through example of dysfunctional living.
Yangdu says sales coming soon. Her hands are full but deliverance is at hand. Thank You Lord, Thank You Lord, Happy Year of the Pig.
